Merry Christmas xo

It's been a while. To be honest, I haven't had a real inclination to blog for quite some time. There's a whole lot of reasons but all of them boil down to a simple I'm just over it. I thought I'd really want to do it when I was living in London, but you know..... reality hit and I realised that I much preferred going out and exploring and that left me little time or desire to document it all.

I still have loads of photos from my numerous trips and for the first time in forever I really felt like coming back to my little blog and sharing something. If not for anything else, then to just have it as another diary entry marking this certain point in my life.

Christmas is the only time I'm ever really online looking at blogs these days and I only go on to see all of the beautiful Christmas spreads shared from all over the world. Back when I first started blogging, I really just loved having access to other people and their personal style. Along with snaps of personal style choices you were also allowed access to their life....where they ate, travelled to and who they hung out with. I dunno it was all pretty cool as it gave and grew inspiration.

Now the market is flooded with practically every living human who upload and post looks and content that literally bore me. The old favourites have gained so much popularity that they have carved a serious career out of promoting brands and products. I'm not mad. I love that people have worked hard (and they really do work so hard) and gained success, but I really miss those original voices before the extreme popularity hit.

I'm really sick and tired of people selling me shit. BRUH, I'm all good. If I wanted the latest shit from ASOS or Evans...I know where to find it. It's almost impossible to go 5 minutes online without an add popping up and being shoved down your throat. You've got half of the world starving and fleeing worn torn countries and the other half giving everyone the scoop on the latest 20% off. Sometimes the imbalance does my head in.

I know.... I'm apart of the world that lives in luxury. I know that the ability to travel is something most of the world cannot afford. I know that living a peaceful existence is a foreign concept to millions of people. I guess I'm at this point in life where I want to be less ignorant to the world around me and more aware of my choices and the impact it has on the world. I also want to always remain grateful for the blessings that I do have. I have a lot. And I am thankful for them.

Spend time with your loved ones, make real memories outside of the perfect instagram picture. Eat some good soul food. Nourish your relationships and seek to repair broken ones. Wear your real face- cause you're beautiful. Say "I'm sorry" and mean it. Challenge yourself physically. Be kind to yourself, and try to look forward to each new experience with the same excitement and anticipation as I do with Christmas.

Christmas Pt.1

Thrifted / Dress Jacket - Shoes / Rivers - Belt / Gifted

Merry Christmas Friends,

I hope that you all had or a having a wonderful Christmas with family & friends. This is my favourite time of the year and it's also a time where I eagerly await all the Christmas posts from all over the world.

Just wanted to share my Christmas outfit. I picked up the dress for $2 like 3 days before Christmas at one of my local opshops. I love polkadots so as soon as I saw this dress I was like "HELLLLL YEAH!". Wore my fave jacket of the moment. This outfit is a little matchy for me. I usually like to contrast my colours more but what's Christmas if you can't be a matchy poo ;)

Took these photos at the river when I went with my niece and nephew to pick some flowers for our table.

I love Christmas. Hope yours was good. More pics coming.

Big Love,

Aussie Curves: Dark

Blouse $6 Vinnies / Tights Kmart $8 / Boots $35 Target / Glasses $2 Salvos

Guess who's back baby? Couldn't miss out 2 weeks now because that would just be absurd. So for dark I opted to wear this gorgeous over sized blouse that my sister picked up for me a few weeks ago at Vinnies for $6.  I love the black detailing because it reminds me somehow of an old 50's Letterman jacket. Don't ask me how or why. It just does. My sister said it reminds her of the 90's but either way I love the length, colour and buttons because I can be a lazy little duck and wear it with plain black tights and boots and I'm good to go.

I searched my house trying to find my friends berry lipstick but I couldn't find it anywhere. So I smoked up the eyes to vamp up the darkness. It not literally dark but everything doesn't have to be a literal interpretation now does it. Check out all the other interpretations below. Love them all.

Big Love,

Mele Kalikimaka

Merry Christmas my wonderful readers! I have been so busy this December and its been jam packed with things to see and do with my family and friends. I trust you all had a lovely Christmas day yesterday! I know I totally suffered from a food coma >,<  so I woke up this morning and guzzled a liter a water to help my poor body flush out all the excessive carbs, fats and sugars consumed previously! As we speak my brother is making some bubble and squeak but I opted for a beautiful fresh corn, cucumber, coriander, lime and chili salsa that was left over from lunch. Its so fresh and I will try to have an abundance of raw fruits and veg over the next few days as a bit of compensation to my Christmas feast.
So here a few pics I wanted to share. This is the first Christmas for my little blog and I know I really loved looking at eall the christmas posts last year. A special hello to my new followers. I am so very honored to share my little part of the world with you all.
My brother Tony and nephew Khie
My parents with Theresa and Tony...5 siblings missing here :P
We made cake pops, rice bubble treats and shortbread biscuits to give to our family members
Lali is reading the story about the birth of Jesus

Meet my little niece Mia-Rose. Look at us in our dots on Christmas morning :)

This is the closest I got to an outfit post. I was so happy to find this on Christmas eve. I was heading to the Salvo's to look for last minute glass jars and plates to serve up all my home cooked sweets for family members and I found this top. EVERYTHING in the store was half price so I got it for $1! I also picked up some handbags and jackets (I wrapped some up for my sisters Christmas present and she LOVED them) and I found HEAPS of wonderful vintage earrings!!

Everyone loved the sweets and it meant I basically gave gifts to all my family members without buying nothing new. I did buy a few new things for my sister but she was my "Secret Santa" and so I got her a present with our price limit.

After visiting other family members we settled down to a hot roast lunch. Even though its hot in Australia and we usually have a mix of seafood and hot roasts; everyone can't go past the roast lamb.

After eating, and chatting and sharing our bon-bon Christmas jokes we sipped on punch and waited for our stomachs to adjust before having dessert and opening presents.

It was such a wonderful time to remember the birth of Jesus and the reason for this special season.

I also wanted to mention the two beautiful bloggers who have interacted with me and or featured me on their blog. You have no idea how much this and this made me smile! Sorry I go a while without thanking you all for your support. I haven't even kept up to date with all my lovely blogger lady friends. I seem to get online, load up some pics and get off. But I really do appreciate all the comments, feedback and support. You are all truly amazing women. I wish all women treated each other with this much support and respect. Mad love for you all.
