Beautiful things: Thrifted wedding look in Hawaii

Aloha lovely people. Just wanted to share my wedding look for Mary and Trevor's wedding held in the Kameamea School Oahu chapel. The setting was so pretty and  the church was perched high up in the mountain and gave a breathtaking view of Waikiki. I have more pics to come later as these ones are just off my phone.

So before I left Mildura I donated the majority of my belongings to the various opshops around town. I was in a hurry but I quickly had a look around and I found this floral vintage dress and I thought it would be perfect for the wedding. It's light, cool and the white and pastel colours give it that fresh spring feel. Winning wedding outfit for $8. I picked up the white shells from and ABC corner store for 90 cents. Paired them with White sandals from Big W. I would have preferred a pastel yellow for contrast but that's all I could rustle up before I left the country.

Wedding was beautiful.....but I'll fill you in on that later. Until then, aloha!

Joan & Karl pt. 1

On the 8th of March my sister and I boarded a plane to Manila. After spending  a night in Manila we boarded another plane and boat to find ourselves on the island of Boracay. I took the time off work to witness the union of Joan and Karl. These two high school sweethearts have been together for 10 years and I have always admired how these two dream big dreams together.

I swear the older I get, the more I notice friends and family 'fall into line'. They work hard, they buy nice houses and they grind away at the grind but they forget to dream. To go for something more or to want something that may seem foolish to others. It's such dreaming that inspires hope and a drive that reminds us that you are living for more than just the weekend.

I met Joan through my two cousins Sia and Dasa many years ago when we were frequently hitting the local clubs on a Saturday night. I have always admired her style and class. She is genuine and kind and she pulls off chic like no other. Flawless makeup and effortlessly put together. I knew her wedding would be just the same.

Thank you Joan and Karl for giving us the best reason ever to visit the beautiful Philippines. Your wedding was beautiful and everyone was all the more richer for sharing it. I wish you all the love, happiness and prosperity your hearts desire. Be blessed and keep dreaming.

Asya Premier Suites hosted the wedding. Joan and her family organised everything. Her dress was made in the Philippines and it was truly exquisite. It's really hard to explain the beauty of it so if you would like to see a short video please watch it HERE.

Stay tuned for Karl and Joan part 2. I'll share more photos then but I wanted you to see how beautiful the couple looked on their special day.

Rhi & Hayden xo

A few weekends ago I was lucky enough to witness one of my most beautiful friends wed the one that she loves. Rhianon is one of those friends who always seem to have it going on. She's always on top of her style (she inspired me to thrift more because I always loved her bright patterned clothes) and ever since we experienced Paris, Amsterdam, London, Chicago and New York together, you can say that our love for travel and all things beautiful have kept us dreaming along the same path even though we have (along with our friends) graduated and moved on to full time grown up work :/

Back to the wedding. Set in the beautiful Molines Bistro in the Hunter Valley, Rhiannon walked down the isle to our friend Lossy singing. Honestly, she was breathtaking. Everything was perfect. They are perfect for each other and I know they will build and extraordinary life serving others and making a difference.

Forgive me for not having any pictures of the bride and groom. I am working on sourcing a copy from my friend Emma Magenta. But busy times and busy lives have prevented that but my sister will share hers soon so I will provide the link when it's up. Click HERE for Siki-Lou's post.

I found this amazing skirt at Rivers a week before the wedding. I was immediately attracted to the colour and the pleats in the skirt. I actually tried this skirt on with this floral top and loved how they worked together. Both pieces have pleats. I didn't plan on wearing the jacket but the weather was a little fresher than I anticipated.

My lip colour was a new BYS find in Gloss and even though it's a little matchy ( I don't often like to match) but I just couldn't wait to wear it. Wedge heels from Rivers at half price for $20. So thanks Rivers for my wedding look.

Just love Emma's DIY headband especially the colour choice of her flowers.

"I do" Lyna + Jarrod

Goodness aren't weddings the just the best? Two people agreeing that they have found something worth keeping, something so special they just want to be together; forever. Now I know some of you may not agree but I think there is something so very special about the sacrament of marriage. It brings two individual people and their families together, and if you're like Lyna and Jarrod; total opposites (one being the shy good guy and the other being an outspoken and some would argue hard headed girl) then you bring together two cultures, both sides learning something from the other. From the littlest thing like the pronunciation of new important names, things are learnt and shared just they way they should be; in love.

So if your married take time to remember those special moments of your day and if you're not; then now you can day dream about the possibility of 'one day'.
