Good Morning Falalas
I'm sitting in Gabby and Candice's apartment in Brooklyn. I've spent the first few days in midtown Manhattan and I 'm glad to be out of there. It's cool to go back and have the view of the city but I really fell in love with Brooklyn on my last holiday. I feel like this is a part of the real New York, the place where the real people live.
When we arrived we saw kids playing in the street and a guy kicking back to UB40 dancing one out having a good time. It's a nice change of pace because the city is always humming. People have to keep moving no matter what. When I looked around it didn't seem like anybody be smiling. I got sad watching everybody working so hard all day long thinking about how others live so comfortably and others bust their gut to survive. But in Brooklyn, I forgot about all that and just enjoyed everything that was around me.
We jumped onto the train and headed towards Dallas BBQ in Brooklyn. We got there at about midnight and we ordered some virgin pina coladas and ribs and chicken. YEAHHHH BOII that shit was yummy! We had to go out to celebrate Candice's birthday and we had a great time laughing and watching everyone else have a great time. There were families, grad parties and people on dates all eating wings and drinking mammoth frozen cocktails. I'm telling you it was such a good atmosphere and my jet-lag and lack of sleep could not stop me from having a good time.
Here are a few instapics I have to share with you. Follow me: mele2541 if you wanna stay posted.

Joan & Karl pt. 1
On the 8th of March my sister and I boarded a plane to Manila. After spending a night in Manila we boarded another plane and boat to find ourselves on the island of Boracay. I took the time off work to witness the union of Joan and Karl. These two high school sweethearts have been together for 10 years and I have always admired how these two dream big dreams together.
I swear the older I get, the more I notice friends and family 'fall into line'. They work hard, they buy nice houses and they grind away at the grind but they forget to dream. To go for something more or to want something that may seem foolish to others. It's such dreaming that inspires hope and a drive that reminds us that you are living for more than just the weekend.
I met Joan through my two cousins Sia and Dasa many years ago when we were frequently hitting the local clubs on a Saturday night. I have always admired her style and class. She is genuine and kind and she pulls off chic like no other. Flawless makeup and effortlessly put together. I knew her wedding would be just the same.
Thank you Joan and Karl for giving us the best reason ever to visit the beautiful Philippines. Your wedding was beautiful and everyone was all the more richer for sharing it. I wish you all the love, happiness and prosperity your hearts desire. Be blessed and keep dreaming.
Asya Premier Suites hosted the wedding. Joan and her family organised everything. Her dress was made in the Philippines and it was truly exquisite. It's really hard to explain the beauty of it so if you would like to see a short video please watch it HERE.
Stay tuned for Karl and Joan part 2. I'll share more photos then but I wanted you to see how beautiful the couple looked on their special day.

Supafest is an urban music festival in Australia and it was the first time I attended. I had not planned to go because I'm not really a Chris Brown fan and he was the headliner but my sister's bestie won 2 tickets to go in a dance (aka booty shaking) competition and I really didn't wanna be the one to miss out so I brought my ticket (and was extremely excited to see Missy Elliot, Ice-Cube, Naughty by Nature and Ludacris). Turns out Missy had never confirmed that she was apart of the lineup. I hate shady promoters and the lies they put out there to sell tickets. She never came.
So anyways we stood ALL DAY LONG (I'm talking from 11am - 10:30pm without any toilet breaks and only sipping on water to avoid going to the toilet) but it was another chance to dance around with my friends and I repped one of my favourite artists atm MIGUEL and his song ADORN cause I still got that on repeat. Respect to those artists coming out and putting on a good show. Even Chris Brown did his thing. Wouldn't say I'm a fan now, but I'm no longer a hater.
Big Love,
Falala Mele
