Aussie Curves Swimwear

Happy Hump Day Everyone! I'm excited to be back in the Aussie Curves swimwear challenge this week. I have been extremely busy with work and life in general but I have some photos that I wanted to share with you all.

So swimwear yeah? Well I love swimming. When there's water I'm usually there. I'm blessed enough to have some of the most beautiful beaches surrounding me and in the last few years I've been in some pretty amazing places. So when it comes to swimming I dress for practicability. I have a few pair of swimmers in my drawers because I'm in love with the idea of swimwear but in the real world this is what I usually wear. Tights, singlets, bras, t-shirts or whatever else I have on me when I'm out and about and I happen to find somewhere nice to swim.

Lalo Manu Beach Samoa
I climbed down this ladder to swim in To Le Sua Trench Samoa. I was scared but it was amazing

Down I go!

I slid down these sliding rocks too! Literally had to swear at myself to do it.

I went down the second set of sliding rocks. It was harder to climb up the mossy rocks because there was no path.

Wether you wear beautiful swimmers or shirts and shorts when you swim, I hope that you do it more often then not.

High Tea in Samoa

Hello to my lovely readers! I seriously can't believe that it is February already. My December and January were soooo jammed packed that I am trying to sort out things out and figure out all the things that I need to share with you guys. Here are some photos of the lovely High Tea we had at Plantation House Samoa. It was so beautiful and we were extremely lucky to walk in on the right day (I think it was a Wednesday) at the right time on the very day they had a cancellation.
When we arrived we immediately felt transported to another time. Ella Fitzgerald was playing in the background; and the attention to detail in both the environment and service made us all feel like true ladies. We were saying "Imagine what it would have been like here in the late 50's early 60's?"....gosh I'm sure it would have been truly beautiful. It was my first ever high tea and I think it has set the standard quite high.

The delicious scones were wrapped up ever so beautifully.
Our host Marita was so welcoming and happy to converse with us and serve us. She made all of the delicious things you can see here; the quiche, cucumber sandwiches, egg and mint sandwiches, rum-less balls, cream puffs, chocolate cake, but the absolute standout for me personally was the lime curd.....HELL TO THE YIZZAYYY that was beautiful! Can you see in  the background that we totally demolished that sweet-buttery delight!

Our beautiful host joined us for a chat after our tummies were full and told us stories about each piece of china on our table and its own history, stories about her life and arriving in Samoa as a young bride from New Zealand, tales of travel and Samoan history. It was really very special to hear the old stories about they way things were. If for some reason you end up in Samoa, you really must pay her a visit. It was only $35 tala per person so it is extremely affordable and you leave feeling a little bit fancier.

The glorious scones and lime curd.

Well it was extremely humid being the tropical season but I still wanted to feel like a lady so I wore my thrifted white blouse ($1) and I tucked it into my   K-mart polk-a-dot skirt ($10). I wore my jandals because it is the islands after all and of course I never went anyways without my fan. Its really simple but it was comfortable and it might be the only official outfit shot from my whole trip.

wedding pics pt.2

As soon as I spotted this bright patterned top I wanted it. I was overjoyed that it was big and flowy. My go to summer look is a bold flowy tops with black tights or shorts. Simple and cool.

I found this during my BNNM and I thought it would be a comfortable and bright outfit to wear. So my style. I wore my sister's brand new Forever 21 black pleated skirt (that is true love when someone shares something they have never worn before) and I was so comfortable. The shoes are my City Chic low heeled peep toe shoes and of course the fan to keep the heat at bay.

The humidity totally determined my hair do for the day. I just sprayed my hair in place and it was good to go.

I felt bright, feminine and fresh. Do you like?
After the wedding I slipped out of the skirt, got my tights on and wore my yellow chucks ready for a night of fun and dancing at Samoa's V Bar. Loved the chillax attitude and a chance to catch up with my other college friends Trina and Emma. I love our impromptu international meet ups and our late night summer adventures.

"I do" Lyna + Jarrod

Goodness aren't weddings the just the best? Two people agreeing that they have found something worth keeping, something so special they just want to be together; forever. Now I know some of you may not agree but I think there is something so very special about the sacrament of marriage. It brings two individual people and their families together, and if you're like Lyna and Jarrod; total opposites (one being the shy good guy and the other being an outspoken and some would argue hard headed girl) then you bring together two cultures, both sides learning something from the other. From the littlest thing like the pronunciation of new important names, things are learnt and shared just they way they should be; in love.

So if your married take time to remember those special moments of your day and if you're not; then now you can day dream about the possibility of 'one day'.

Samoa continued

Greetings! How are you all? I just wanted to apologise for my lack of posts.... sometimes I guess life just gets in the way of all the things we wished we could be doing. So I have been back from Samoa for more than 2 weeks now and I have finally come off that cloud....post holiday blues are the worst! I spent the first week trying to regulate my body's sleep pattern and appetite whilst adjusting to being without my travel buddies, the warm south pacific air and free days of deciding where to go, what to wear and what to eat (I miss the fresh fruit in the islands).

Samoa was such a beautiful place. In case you missed the update, I went over for my friends wedding. I assisted in the hair and makeup prep for the day. I enjoyed being the tourist driving all over the island with my girls (we hadn't seen each other for about 2 years)....it was an endless bundle of laughs....we teased each other, teased ourselves and had a cocktail/coconut bonanza!!

A few highlights included watching "The Orator" in Samoa. It is such a strong film and if it is showing (I know it is limited release in Australia) you should definitely go and see it. Also sliding down the rock waterfalls was the bomb! So I was totally scared but I made myself do it and it was THE BEST!!! I will see if I can post the video up!

Other than that I won't rave on....I'll load the pics and daydream about my next trip away.

Next post will be the wedding pics. I don't want to say stay tuned because both times I have said it....I haven't updated on it :/ also I can finally breath a sigh of relief on something that had bugged me for a while. So I said I would send something to one of my readers as a pay it forward thing since Amrah so kindly sent me stuff...and I have been meaning to do it.....WELL FINALLY......I sent that little package today so keep an eye out Sara. I'm so sorry it has been well over a month since I promised you I would. I hope you like the stuff.

Also shout out to my new followers. So delighted you saw something of interest in my blog...and Kiah I'm not Samoan. My father is Australian and my mother is Niuean (another small South Pacific island) but I mix with a lot of Polynesian people and I love how similar yet diverse each polynesian culture is. P.S. Don't forget to see The Orator if it is showing near you.
