Super Sundays in London pt. 3 Brick Lane

A few Sundays ago, my friends and I wandered off to Brick Lane to eat some delicious food and to catch up with Beth and Dani as they were apart of a Plus Size Swap Sale. Since being in London for a few months, we've been hanging out with Tiffany of Fat Shopaholic. She's out in Brighton studying so she hasn't had a chance to catch up with the other London bloggers yet, so it was a nice chance to connect and meet other bloggers and babes from around London.

Dealing with the winter and dressing for warmth has been a new experience for me. I swear I usually just throw on few things and I'm out the door but I've been bitter every time I've been fooled by the sunshine and decided to wear shorts or a dress.  Thankfully I've managed to find some comfy jeggings from New Look HERE and they've been a lifesaver in breaking the dull black leggings I wear to work daily.

I picked up the blouse at ASDA on sale for like 8 pounds and my hat for 3 pounds at Monki. I've been dressing comfortably and casually and it's been great since we're walking all over London in and out of various tube stations. Some people will sacrifice comfort for beauty but I'm far too practical for that life.

We stopped off to grab a bite to eat in the old Truman Brewery where there are loads of amazing food stalls before heading to the swap/sale. I picked up a few cute pieces but mainly enjoyed meeting old and new friends and hanging out with my London sisters. The event had a lovely kick back vibe and everyone picked up a little something from the sale. WINNING all around!

Cut for Evans

My Look /  Dress -Made it / Boots-New Look  / Makeup NYX on the eyes / Peach Lips
Met these blogger beauties Nancy, Rosie & Becky.

Two weeks ago I attended my very first unofficial blogger event in London. Even though I've been off the blogger radar for a while, it was nice to dress up, go out and meet new friends. Since arriving in London we've been extremely busy basically setting up our lives and doing boring stuff like work and we're usually buggered by the time the weekend hits.

So after randomly bumping into Callie at the Portobello Road Markets in Nottinghill, she invited us to come and check out the new Cut for Evans range launch at the Marble Arch store. We were running late and we didn't know what to expect, but we were surprised at the turn out of wonderful bloggers, fun music and flowing drinks.

My highlight was meeting the lovely bloggers, I recognised a few from Full Figure Fashion Week in NYC. It's also so nice to know that there are real things happening in Plus Sized Fashion here.

It's pretty exciting to witness young female designers have their dreams recognised. I'll applaud Evans on providing that opportunity and for being open to new ideas when it comes to plus size fashion. They definitely hosted a fun evening. My fave piece was the Purple Digital Print Bomber Jacket and that retails for 55 pound. Be sure to check out the collection and shop it HERE.

Managed to snap a quick shot of Ellie who designed half of the collection. Doesn't Cheryl Fergison look glam?

107

Tartan Throw  THRIFTED / Tie-dye Top KMART / Leggings KMART / Boots RIVERS / Glasses EQUIP

107. That's the name of my favourite lipstick. It is a staple and life saver. I just slip it on with a lick of mascara and I'm ready to go. I've had the colour for well over a year now and I'm surprised I haven't needed a replacement. I'm a fan of matte colours because they have better staying power throughout the day. 107 is apart of the Rimmel Kate Moss range and from the quick google search (I was checking if it had another name) I would assume that it is the most popular in the range.  Priceline have them on sale now for $10 HERE

I also had a chance to wear my new boots today. I took my Dad out to buy some new clothes the other week and he picked up the boots that I wanted. I needed something sturdy and comfortable when walking through the streets on London, and something to withstand the rain and cold. I didn't want to pay $80 so I took a chance at holding out until the sale came. I walked back into Rivers and picked them up for $20. #WINNING

I've also been busy trying to sort out my UK visa as well as find a place to live (any advice or hookups would be appreciated because I'm starting to freak out!) and I've felt the real urge to start hunting through all my favourite opshops to stock up on warm clothes for London. Last week I found this adorable tartan throw over. It's warm and just feels so comfortable and it's feeding my current obsession with the 90's aesthetic.

Also picked up this oversized tie-dyed top from Kmart that I will no doubt live in during the summer.

Pretty casual and comfy but that seems to be my regular lately. What's new with you?

worn so far

1. Fave thrifted denim / Kmart top / Forever 21 scarf    2. Thrifted floral dress / purple lips / Target wedge sandle
1. Thrifted patterned blouse / purple lips $3     2. Best and Less blouse / Seraphim chain /  Hat Cabramatta
1. Carnival casual w fluro muscle shirt from Hawaii    2. Basic face goodness
1. Denim / bindi / Uncle's beanie for birthday dress up   2. Knott flow on Sundays
So I've definitely eased off with the ootd shots. I still love getting dressed up but I'm just kinda fine with wearing it and moving on. Don't get it twisted, I still love reading blogs and looking at creatively styled ensembles but for me, it got to a point where I wanted to photograph everything.....then I kinda thought I could spend my time doing other things...like live life.

That's not to say the outfit shots will stop. Hardly. I'm just not as inspired right now so here a few shots of what I've been wearing off my humble phone. Still ridiculously drawn towards that 90's aesthetic. I love the deep lip colour, and a more casual look. Ugh it's me all over. Little effort and then I'm off.

Aussie Curves Sydney Meet

A few weeks ago I attended my first ever blogger meet......Is that even what you call them? I'm kinda decades behind everything in the blogger world. I just know what blogs I like and I share the things that I like with you all.

I was really excited to meet some of the ladies that participate in the Aussie Curves weekly challenge. I had watched these ladies interpret themes, challenge themselves, encourage others and  confront social norms and expectations. It's really grown into a wonderful community of ladies who share everything from shopping tips and discount codes to personal advice on everyday trials and situations and I finally got to meet some of them in 'real-life'.

I invited my cousin and my niece to attend. I wanted them to meet some fab ladies and experience one of the coolest things ever to come from the internet and blogging; the meeting of diverse, like-minded individuals who lives would never normally cross paths. When you share personal stories and experiences and read someone else's for an extended period of time, a openness and honesty develops and it's weird but you really do become friends without having met them.

As I'm typing this my mind flips to that show Catfish when online lovers are excited to meet, usually only to be disappointed with lies and dishonesty. Don't get me wrong there are some crazy ass mofos out there but the difference between those people and the blogging community is that there is really nothing to gain from the lies okay so maybe people lie to get a gazillion followers and free shit and theres so many different blogs around you are really free to follow your tastes and interests.

Anyways we were late, we got caught in the rain (don't sweat it......we found some cardboard boxes and used them as umbrellas) and we were backwards in using our smart phones for accurate directions. To cut a long story short we found our way there EVENTUALLY and after a few quick hellos and some awkward moments thinking "I know them but I don't really know them" sorta deal.... I just decided to relax and chat. My sister and I did our usual tag-team story telling thing (we're famous for doing this amongst our friends) and we all started to relax and bust out laughing.

Back: Tay, Niva, Claire, Mele, Caitlin, Theresa Front: Dani & Jo
The glamorous Claire with my sissy and cousin Niva. Don't they look beautiful?

After we left the Aussie Curves meet up we walked to the casino to have a crazy buffet feed with my college girls. I miss them all the time. I was telling Dani that we all lived on the same floor in our dorm and it was the best ever. Rooms were always open. Clothes, food, dvds, shoes and harddrives were always mysteriously moved from room to room. We shared EVERYTHING and in all respects we became sisters. Try to imagine us reunited.
It was loud, and crazy with loads of mocking, giggles and food. Such a blessing.

Worn: Thrifted Polkadot Blazer $2 Thirfted Tie-Dyed Top $2 City Chic Skater Skirt $10

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all the cool cats who made it out to the city in the rain. It was honestly really cool to meet you all and put your personalities to your blogs.
I can't wait to do it again.

Life has been good and they breaks off school have been magical but it also means that I will have to get back to the grind very soon.

I hope you have all been well.
Just wanted to share with you a few recent outfit shots. I've been really bad at taking proper outfit shots since I have finally got an iphone. So if you follow me on instagram then you would have seen all of these outfits. Sorry bout that.....I'm no social media maiden so I'm still learning how to juggle all the networks whilst keeping things fresh and relevant. Anywhoooo back to the outfits yeah? I have had a change in my travel plans. My mid year Europe trip has to be put on hold but that's okay because I plan to live there next year. So it's back to the drawing board and I'm hoping to get to New York for Full Figured Fashion Week instead so the possibility of meeting fellow bloggers is really exciting.

Please bear with me. I plan to be better.
